Our Fair Usage

In its most general sense, fair usage involves copying of copyrighted material for a limited and “transformative” purpose. For example, we comment on, analyse and engage with lots of copyrighted work. To avoid any potential infringement, we follow these principles:

  • the original work has been available to the public;
  • the quoted material is justified, and no more than necessary is included; and
  • the source of the quoted material is acknowledged, along with the name of the author.

Licensed Items

Fair usage is incredibly important, but we also have broad commercial rights to use various stock images and graphics. Some items are open source.
