Introduction
The Media Studies course offers students the opportunity to analyse different media forms, develop cultural awareness, and create media content that is appropriate for your audience and context. You will have to think critically about the media and the role it plays in our everyday lives.

Course Overview
The course assessment has three components.
Component 1 is a written examination which lasts for 2 hours 30 minutes. The paper assesses your ability to apply knowledge and understanding by analysing media content in context.
Component 2 is a written examination which lasts for 1 hour and focuses on your ability to apply knowledge and understanding by analysing the role of media in society.
Component 3 is a coursework assignment. You have to develop media texts in response to a negotiated brief.

Course Aims
The main aims of the course are to enable candidates to develop:
